Music
It is present in the celebration of important life events, such as births, engagements, marriages and also feasts.
Popular music has its own accent in small villages or in the countryside. Musical instruments are principally wind
instruments (Mizmar, Nay, Mejwez) and percussion instruments (Drum, Daff). Turkish influence (Bashraf) and Andalusian
influence (Samah) are found in Syrian music. Sabah Fakhri and Mayada Hennawi are among the talented interpreters
of Arab song and music.
